3 Garden Alternatives

raised gardens

I’m growing tomatoes and peppers on the porch!

I’ve been an avid gardener for most of my life.  By the time March hits, I’m white knuckling my garden tools and itching to get my hands in the soil.  In my neck of the woods planting season is in May and, for me, that’s too long of a wait.

The Best Of Online Clearance Sales

I’ve been a bargain shopper my entire life and nothing thrills me more than a good clearance sale.  As an online shopper, I’m always checking out the clearance pages of my favorite stores.  There is a world of online clearance sales to be shopped.  Although I venture out for a little in-store shopping once in a while, I favor the online clearance sales.  The selection is better, you don’t have to contend with rummaging through piles of merchandise and racks of mix matched clothing and you’re not limited to what stores you can shop.

8 Summer Heat Safety Tips

I installed an air conditioner in one of my offices today.  It’s only May.  I’ve never had to use air conditioning this early in the year.  This is something I typically do towards the end of June.  However, today, the outside thermometer reached 102.  My office is a small sun room with more windows than walls.  It was probably about 10-15 degrees hotter in here than outside.  By mid afternoon I was dizzy and had sweat dripping down my back.  It was time.  The air conditioner went in.  Today was a harsh reminder that we’re probably in for an extensive 3-H summer.  Hazy.  Hot.  Humid.

Kick Off Summer With Memorial Day Sales & Coupons

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kick off of summer!  It’s when the ‘closed for the season’ places open.  The grills are taken out of hibernation.  We spend the day before whipping up our favorite summer fare for the cookout.  It’s a weekend to unwind with friends and family, eat too much food, indulge in a drink or two, flirt with the platters of desserts and to get ready for the summer months ahead.  That’s in my plans for Saturday.  Going to enjoy the company of family and fire up the grill.

7 Ways To Avoid DIY Disasters

A few years ago, I took over a house that was in shambles.  Nothing had been done to the house in decades.  One of the bathrooms hadn’t been used in years, the basement was covered in mold, the kitchen sink was broken due to a plumbing issue, the ceiling had caved in one of the bedrooms, some of the walls had water damage, the original windows were still there, etc.  The most comical of all things was someone had boarded up a window in the upstairs bedroom because they didn’t want to take the air conditioner out.  Mind you, this air conditioning unit was ancient.  It frightened me.

Save Time & Money with In-Store Pickup!

Time is money. This is never truer than during the holidays, especially when it comes to holiday shopping. Luckily, several retailers have begun to offer in-store pickup on items purchased online. This allows you the luxury of browsing in the comfort of your own home, without the nail-biting that comes with waiting for a package to ship. Also, you get the bonus of not having to pay for shipping.

To make things even easier, you can do all of this convenient shopping without ever having to leave the zuuzs homepage! The list of zuuzs retailers offering this option include: Advance Auto Parts, Best Buy, The Container Store, Finish Line, Home Depot, Kmart, Sears, Walgreens, and many more.

Most stores offer the “In-Store Pickup” option upon checkout, and then allow you to choose your nearest location(s). The items will be there waiting for you by the time you get your car dug out of the snow (typically 45 min. to an hour). All you need to bring is your confirmation email and receipt! As a bonus, some retailers make it even easier by allowing you to browse only items that are available for in-store pickup, offer Curbside Delivery, and give coupons, but either way, this is one offer that keeps on giving!
