Earlier today we were out and about and stopped by to see a friend of ours. It was a beautiful afternoon and we spotted Jen outside hanging clothes. We walked to the back yard and took a seat on the picnic table as she finished hanging the laundry. Upon closer inspection I noticed there was a copious amount of tie-dye clothing including kids tee-shirts, a few toddler dresses, onesies and girls jersey shorts.
Most of the stores have their shelves filled with holiday merchandise. From wrapping paper to holiday cards…it’s there. You would think they’d at least wait until Halloween is over. But, no. They don’t. We crack jokes about it, however, we all know that it’s there for a reason. The holiday season is right around the corner and it’s time to start tackling your holiday list. Early holiday sales and coupons are surfacing and, if you want to save some cash, the time to shop is NOW!
I spend quite a bit of time scoping the internet for people who have a knack for saving money and aren’t afraid to brag about it. I gravitate towards those who take an interest in couponing. Although I’ve been a savvy bargain shopper my entire life, I’ve never fully entered the land of couponing. I truly admire those that do. Think back to when you were in school. There is at least one teacher that stood out and has had an impact on your life. Mine was Mrs. W. Back then, it wasn’t cool to focus efforts on anything related to art. Whether it was writing or watercolors, there wasn’t much to stimulate the creative minds that roamed the halls. Mrs. W. was one of the rare few who embraced those souls and provided an environment to encourage us young artists. Her classroom was my playground. Eventually, thanks to her encouragement and persistence, the world became my playground. Over three decades later I’m still writing, photographing the world as I see it and, once in a while, I flirt with a good brush and tube of paint.
